Deacon Albert "Brother" Seawright
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10
God called our beloved “Seawright” to his eternal home, on Friday morning, January 5, 2018.
Albert Seawright, affectionately known as “Brother,” was born in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Clarence Anderson and Allene Seawright Bradley.
He attended school in the Greenville County School System and received a diploma in Development Skills at Greenville Technical College. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963.
On August 19, 1956, Albert married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Rita O’Conner. To this union was born one son, Winfred Albert.
Albert worked for many years at Roane Barker Medical Supply and Michelin Tire Company, but eventually retired from Digital Equipment Corporation.
He accepted Christ at a young age and became a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Through the years, he served in various ministries including the Deacon Board, the Praise/Devotion Team and the Male Chorus. He would often be heard singing, “I’ll Be Somewhere Listening for My Name”.
Frequently called “Brother” or “Seawright”, he was well known and loved by many. Albert loved manicuring his yard and was often seen waving and greeting people who passed by his home. He often witnessed to neighbors and young men in his neighborhood about how his salvation had changed his life.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mrs. Rita O’Conner Seawright; one son, Winfred Albert (Olivia) Seawright; one sister, Linda Townes; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom he loved and cherished.
