Mr. Alex Lamar Richardson was born October 5, 1984, in Buffalo, New York, the son of Mr. Charles Lamar Richardson and Ms. Sellestine McLain. He departed this life on April 9, 2018.
At the age of 15, Alex professed his salvation and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Alex attended Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, and completed his education in Buffalo, New York.
Alex enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 24, 2007. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division and completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan. His service record is detailed as follows: Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/three campaign stars, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service medal Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and Parachute Badge.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Jaxon Hiott-Richardson; his father, Mr. Charles L. Richardson; his mother, Ms. Sellestine McLain; his sister, Adrea (Jeffrey) Alexander; his nieces, Taylor Owens and Maia Alexander; his great-nephew, Karter Brown; uncles, aunts, other family and friends.
