Alonzo Gibbs

Mr. Alonzo Wellington Gibbs of Greer, South Carolina, formerly of Wilmington, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 18, 2019, at McCall Hospice House. He was the son of the late Julius Gibbs and Lillian Singleton.

He was preceded in death by his loving sisters, and a special daughter, Rev. Debra E. Benbow.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories his wife, Melvenia Benbow Gibbs of the home; seven daughters, Meryle (Bradley) Leonard of Mooresville, NC, Sherry (Thomas) Dendy of Greer, SC, Terry Wise of Wilmington, NC, Shenita Josey (Rev. Dr. Anthony Josey) of Rockville, MD, Alvenia (James) Parson of Newport News, VA, and Carla Green and Quessie Jones, both of Wilmington, NC; three sons, Michael Gibbs of Jamaica, NY, Stephen (Gi-Gi) Gibbs of Columbia, SC, and Todd Wise of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Josephine (John) Chisolm of Bronx, NY; special friends, Vicky Skinner and Jean Brinson; and a host of grandchildren , other family members and friends
