Mr. Alvin "Chucky" Rosemond, 69, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at his residence. Born in Greenville, County, he was the son of Alma Bell Daniel, and James Lavern Rosemond.
Alvin L. Rosemond who was affectionately known as "Chucke" was born August 6, 1954, in Greenville, SC to James Rosemond and Alma Belle Daniel, who both preceded him in death. He was one of four children born to this union.
A 1971 graduate of Greenville High School, Alvin attended Kennesaw State University on an academic scholarship. He was passionate about learning and until his passing he continued his weekly visits to the library. Chucke was a joyful spirit who proudly served several years in the U.S. Army with the Airborne Division.
A believer and follower of Jesus Christ, he was an active member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church. Chucke served passionately in the music ministry, and he took much delight in organizing the Annual Christmas Cantata and Candlelight Service. Chucke was a devoted Sunday School Teacher Adult Class, member of Male Chorus and Voices of Faith, Chairperson of Men's Day 2023, Trustee, and always faithful in all tasks. He served with enthusiasm at Minus Chapel United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Brenda Washington. Music was Alvin's delight as he enjoyed all forms of music including jazz and the blues. He also loved photography.
Surviving: a brother, James Rosemond, of Fayetteville, NC; a one sister, Linda Castro, of Chicago, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, December 9, 2023, 11:00am, at Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church, with interment on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10:00am in M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
