Mrs. Annette Marie Sherman was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Harvey and Helen McInytre and lived her early childhood years in Asbury Park, New Jersey, with her older brother, John. After the passing of her father her family moved to Greenville, South Carolina, to the White Horse and Crestfield Road sections of town. She then developed a lifelong friendship with Jackie Ladson (Henderson) who was her best friend and was also her maid of honor in her wedding. In 1971 until his passing in 2010, Annette was married to the late Lucius P. Sherman, from this marriage she became a loving mother of 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
Annette was a 1969 graduate of Joseph E. Beck High School. After graduating, Annette continued a lifelong journey of self development through reading, writing and pushing herself to learn at a higher level by going to college in her later years. She was an entrepreneur having owned and operated two businesses, Net's Hair Care and AMS Enterprises. She also worked for and retired from the County of Greenville as an Administrative Assistant for the Clerk of Court.
Annette was a faithful and active member of New Hope Christian Fellowship where she served as the church administrator. She was also ordained as a minister to preach the Gospel of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Annette Sherman was loved by many and will be missed dearly by her family, friends and former co-workers.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are one daughter, Sonya (Curtis) Mayfield of Minneapolis, MN; three sons, Chris (Ingrid) Sherman of Greenville, SC,Jason (Monique) Sherman of Los Angeles, CA, and Kevin (Sherneka) Sherman of Greenville, SC; seven grand-children, Chanele Sherman, Cierra Gambrell-Talley, Tiana Smith, Erick Sherman, Kennedy Sherman, Jahnya Mayfield and Joshua Sherman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
