Mrs. Annie Mae Fowler, wife of the late Charles Fowler, was born on December 20, 1930, in Greenville County. Affectionately known to her sons as “Boss,” she was a daughter of the late Walter and Abbie Arnold.
Annie joined New Forksville Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Silver Hill Elementary School and Gantt Rosenwald High School in Honea Path, South Carolina. She moved to Boston to work and later returned home to Greenville after twenty years. Annie was employed at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, where she attended to babies until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Abbie Arnold and a sister, Virginia Williams.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are three sons, Gary Fowler of Boston, MA, Kelvin Fowler and Tyrone Fowler, both of Greenville, SC; three sisters, Rosella Gary, Elizabeth (James) Bailey, and Emma Williams, all of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
