Beauford Mathis

Mr. Beauford “B.J.” Mathis, 86 of 404 Prosperity Ave passed away on Friday August 1, 2014 at National Health Center in Mauldin.

Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late P.C. and Anica Chiles Mathis. He was retired from Stevens Aviation as a pilot/ mechanic and a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle Mathis of the home, two daughters, Baretta Sweeney of Greenville and Claudia McCier of Greenwood; four sons, Curtis Mathis of Woodbridge, VA, Beauford Mathis Jr. and Brian Mathis of Greenville and Ralph Mathis of Piedmont; two sisters, Dorothy Mathis and Virginia Watson of Greenwood, three brothers, Howard Mathis, Bennie Mathis Sr. and Charles Mathis all of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, 1:00 PM, Valleybrook Baptist Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
