Mr. Bernard Brown, 58, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Born in The Republic of Panamá on July 15, 1963, he immigrated to the United States as a toddler. He enjoyed dual citizenship as a Panamanian-American.
“Bernie”, as he was affectionately called, was the eldest of four, born to the late Jeanette Cobham Brown and the late Grady Brown, Jr. As their only son, he was the apple of their eye.
Bernard attended Southside High where he was a football player as well as saxophonist in the marching band. He later furthered his education at Greenville Technical College.
He enjoyed drawing, and executed professional artistic ability at an early age. He impressed family and friends with his sketches throughout adulthood. He was also an avid music lover, preferring the hits from the 1970’s and ‘80’s.
As a young adult, he took advantage of the opportunity to join the army, enabling him to pursue his passion for traveling. In his later years, he enjoyed attending meetings and singing hymns at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by three sisters, Maxine (George) Hunt, of Piedmont; Ivette, known as Ivy (Perry) Bowens; and Miranda (Stephan) Harris, all of Greenville. Bernard had no biological children, but was blessed with three nieces, three nephews, and one great-nephew. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and a host of relatives and friends.
