Mrs. Betty Ruth “Bet” Black, 79, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Friday, April 17, 2020, at home. She was a daughter of the late Albert and Ilean Hughes Tate.
She was a member of Relentless Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Black, Sr.; a son, Jimmy Black; two brothers, Albert Tate and Thomas Tate.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are three daughters, Eunice Davis, Emma Brown and Sandra (Jimmy) Blakley, all of Greenville, SC; two step-daughters, Ruell Rayford and Lillie Benson, both of Greenville, SC; two sons, James Lewis (Sandra) Black, Jr., and Tywon Black, both of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Sallie Mae Butler of Greenville, SC, and Connie (William) Mattison of Pelzer, SC; two brothers, William Tate of Williamston, SC, and James (Shirley) Tate of Pelzer, SC; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
