Betty Gambrell

August 27, 1950 — April 3, 2018

Ms. Betty Joann “BJ” Gambrell, 67, of Easley, South Carolina, departed this life to go to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Carl Gambrell, Sr., and Jessie Mae Gambrell.

“BJ” was a graduate of Clearview High School, Class of 1969. She was a retired textile worker and passionate caregiver. She loved to take care of others.

She was a loyal member of Easley Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in the Usher Ministry. Her loving and inviting smile welcomed many to the household of faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Vernon S. Gambrell; her sisters, Eva Mae Allgood and Doretha Allgood; a brother, Clarence Allgood; and raised as a brother, Rev. William Gamble, Jr.

Left to treasure many fond and loving memories are a daughter, Carla “Dee” Hall of Easley; three sons, Rev. Vincent “Meatball” (LaNetric) Gambrell of Lufkin, TX, Adrin L. Gambrell and Rickey Gambrell, both of Easley; one brother, Carl (Patricia) Gambrell, Jr., of Greenville; an aunt, Hattie “May Ruth” Gamble of Greenville; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
