Ms. Betty Jean Keaton, 79, transitioned to her Heavenly home on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Vann Norton and Lois Jordan Keaton.
She attended Sterling High School and was a homemaker for her children, grandchildren and community children. She was loved by her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her children, Delores Walker, Thomas and Philip Keaton; grandchildren, Congecee Keaton, Tony Foster, Jr. and Alexander Paden; sisters, Betty Jo Austin, Rozella Norton, Ruby Nell Brownlee and Rosalee Jordan; brothers, Claudious Eugene Norton, Howard Harrison Norton and David Norton.
Left to treasure fond memories are her daughters, Cheryl (Robert Taylor) Keaton, Vandelta Keaton, Belinda (Randy Valentine) Keaton and Ira Rosemond, all of Greenville; sons, Ronnie (Fredrica White) Keaton of Greenville and Vincent Keaton of Columbia; grandchildren raised in the home, William Keaton, Shimocco Keaton Young and Charvis Richey; brothers, James Norton of Atlanta, GA, Rudolph Norton of Newark, DE, Ronald Norton of Atlanta, GA, Donald W. Norton of Greenville, and Henry O. (Mary) Norton of New Orleans, LA; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; a special niece, Min. Jacqueline Jordan Hampton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
