Mrs. Betty Dorothy Jean Mattison was born on May 29, 1946, in Anderson County. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo Franklin and Maybell Rhome Williams. On Friday morning, November 20, 2015, the Lord dispatched an angel to select a special flower for His heavenly garden and Jean was selected.
She was a faithful member of Greater True Light F.B.H. Church where she served as Secretary of the Sunday School and member of the Hospitality Committee.She was employed with Greenville Health System in Greenville, SC. She formed a Bible Study program and was the instructor at Crestview Apartments out of her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Mattison; a daughter, Catherine Elaine Mattison-Hayes; three brothers, Lonell, Curtis and Grady and one sister, Amelia Collins.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: a devoted daughter, Melinda Odella Mattison of Easley, SC; two sons, Victor Maurice Rhome of Piedmont, SC and Fredrick Odell Mattison of the home; five grandchildren, Victor Rhome of Greenville, SC, Robert Rashad Walker, Tyrone Hayes, Jr., Rachel Mattison and Madison Mattison all of Baltimore, MD; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rev. Alma Williams and Daisy Judge, both of Easley, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.
