While in New York Betty was employed on Wall Street at Manufacturers Hanover Bank inscribing checks.

Betty began building her home at 250 Rock Quarry Rd in 1974 while still in New York. She moved in her new home in November 1974. Outside of raising her own 3 daughters, Betty helped to raise other children in her community, and she has taken in several of her grands and great grands over the years.

After retirement, Betty continued to take care of others by taking in her mother-in-law after a series of strokes and her aunt by marriage, Lois Donald who had become bedridden. She took care of them faithfully until their passing.

If you knew Betty at all, then you know that her church, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church is very dear to her. She loved Pastor and Mrs. Parks and all of its members. She served as a choir member, church custodian for 10 years, Missionary Ministry President for countless years, and Pastor’s Aid President for 25 years.
Her testimony of how God has blessed her is a powerful one. Her love for God, friends and family was shown on a daily basis.

We thank you for joining us in celebrating and praising God for such a great gift to this earth and now to the kingdom of Heaven!!
