St. Carolyn was born September 19, 1953, in Anderson, SC, to the late Elder Reece and St. Corrie Harris Wideman, Sr. She was the second oldest of eight children.

St. Carolyn has one brother who preceded her in death, Robert “Rocky” Wideman; and three grandchildren, Shaquan Saunders, Serray Walker and Shawn Jones II.

St. Carolyn attended South Fant, New Deal Elementary, Old Westside and graduated from McDuffie High School where she sang in the Glee Club and shined just as bright in Visual Arts. She chose to attend Tri-County Technical School to become a nurse to be a blessing to others in that capacity.

St. Carolyn professed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved working in the United House of Prayer for All People, she was an avid “G” class worker and cherished praising the Lord. She served as the General Secretary at the United House of Prayer in Abbeville, SC for 45 years, she also served on the nurse board, and she was the secretary for the Bailey Blue Jays Jr Band. She worked many years at Ellenburg Nursing Home as a nurse and she worked at AnMed Hospital as a nurse. She enjoyed helping others, volunteering in the community and working with our veterans at Richard Campbell Veterans Home until her health prevented her services.

St. Carolyn loved to read her bible, praying for others was a daily routine for her and she cherished the day that she became a Grandmother. Nothing pleased her more than spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile was just her forte’. She was a loving and caring person, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, always doing for others first. “To know her was to love her.”
