Cassandra Carr, affectionately known as “Lynn”, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, entered eternal rest peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019. Lynn was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Carr, Sr.
She was a graduate of Travelers Rest High School, class of 1982. Lynn was an avid sports player and she accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Saint John United Methodist Church; which is now The New Saint Luke United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women Ministry.
In her final days, the spirit of the Lord filled her heart and her room. Lynn was so proud of her sons Zayne and Isaiah and she loved them unconditionally. She was their biggest cheerleader and they were hers. Zayne and Isaiah brought Lynn so much Joy and she loved cheering for the boys on Friday nights at their games.
She was an amazing daughter, mother, aunt, co-worker and friend to everyone she met. Her smile was infectious and her zeal to live life was amazing. She fought a strong fight until the very end. Lynn will be missed by all. Her laughter and smile could brighten any room. Lynn was an officer at Greenville County Detention Center for the past 17 years.
Left to cherish loving memories are her parents, Otis and Joan Carr; two sons, Zayne and Isaiah Carr; nieces, Nicole Carr and Tyra Moore; a nephew, Jalen Rhodes-Malik; her great-nieces, London Griffith and Paris Gault. She also touched the lives of her dearly beloved aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grand-parents, Ellis Carr, Sr., and Willie Mae Carr; maternal grandparents, Joe and Cassie Cureton; and her brother, Otis Carr, Jr., also known as “June Bug”.
