Charles Hagood

Mr. Charles “Big Chief” Hagood, 57, of Greer, South Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Pelham Medical Center. Born in Easley, he was a son of the late James Henry and Bertha Lee Robinson Hagood.

He joined the New Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at an early age; later in life, he joined Church on the Rock of Greenville. He was a former member of the group “Hagood Brothers +1”. “Big Chief” was a graduate of Easley Senior High School, where he played football. He was employed by Dunean Mill and worked for Capri’s Italian Restaurant until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sue Alexander and brothers, Henry Hagood, Larry Hagood and Rayfus Hagood.

Surviving: daughters, Nikki Hagood and Kenzzy Rouse, both of Greenville; sons, Charles P. Hagood and Samson E. Hagood, both of Greenville; sisters, Elizabeth (Walter) Blassingame of Easley, Mary Hagood of Easley, Clarene Hagood of Liberty, Doris Hagood of Greenville, Mamie Henderson of Greenville, Patricia Hagood of Liberty, Frances Hagood of Greenville, Kathey (Charles) Madison of Greenville, and Sharon Hagood of Easley; brothers, James E. Hagood of Piedmont and Donald (Peggy) Hagood of Easley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
