Charles Hailstock

Mr. Charles Edward “Tuna” Hailstock, 65, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Patewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was a son of the late John P. Hailstock and Viola Latta Hailstock.


“Tuna” was a member of New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Beck High School, Class of 1971, where he was active in sports. He grew up in the Nicholtown Community, where he touched many lives in a positive way.


He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kyieasha Faith Sullivan; a son, Javar Butler; and his brothers, Leroy, Johnny, Thomas and Craig Hailstock.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are three daughters, Kelly Henderson of Concord, NC, Rokesha Butler and Taneshia Geter, both of Greenville; two sons, Charles Hishun (Jamie) Sullivan of Las Vegas, NV, and Charlie Whitstyne of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Patricia H. Moore, Deborah H. Black and Beverly Hailstock, all of Greenville; raised in the home as a brother, Dwight Hailstock of Charlotte, NC; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
