Charles Lake

March 17, 1954 — August 27, 2019

Mr. Charles William “Chuck” Lake, Jr., 65, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Patewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare. He was the son of the late Charles W. Sr., and Naomi Ruth Mattison Lake,.

He was a 1972 graduate of Southside High School, and was employed at American Hardware Supply Company for 24 years until he retired in 1999, after which he worked at Michelin Tire Company 18 months before becoming disabled.

He attended Allen Temple AME Church where he participated in the Usher Board Ministry and the Parking Lot Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Ann Kirksey; his maternal grandmother, Ellie Austin Mattison; and an aunt, Jamie Mattison Manning.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his former wife, Brenda Jean Milton Lake; four daughters, Bergina (Kenneth) Cruise of Suwanee, GA, Naminya (Dante’) Burress of Grand Prairie, TX, Bridget (Roderigus) Menniefield of Simpsonville, SC, and Bethany Lake (Franck) of Greenville, SC; three aunts, Margree Burdine of Mauldin, SC, and Frances Lake and Mary Ann Lake, both of Piedmont, SC; eleven grandchildren, Taylor Burress, Emmanuel Burress, Raziyah Menniefield, Michael Cruise, Joshua Burress, Jeremiah Burress, Braelyn Mennefield, Ayden Campbell, Jazlyn Mennefield, Camden Moukeka and Cameron Moukeka; and a host of cousins, of other relatives and friends.
