Charles Sherman

October 2, 1968 — May 21, 2019

Mr. Charles Anthony “TinMan” Sherman, Sr., 50, of Greenville, departed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. He was born on October 2, 1968, in Englewood, New Jersey, a son of Clemon Motley and the late Frances Sherman Brown.

Charles was a 1986 graduate of Woodmont High School, where he was an outstanding student and athlete. Shortly after completing high school, Charles chose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army, where he served faithfully for three years. Upon returning home, Charles started his career in logistics and management. He also pursued his passion in photography through his own company, Picture This Onsite Photography.

He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the Inspiration Choir. He later joined Mount Zion Baptist Church in Belton, South Carolina. He was an active member of the Lowndes Hill Masonic Lodge #319 and Sin City Motorcycle Club in Greenville.

One of his missions in life was to share the love he had for life with others. He was always there with words of wisdom and sound advice, and we can never forget that smile, which he often flashed to brighten our day!

In addition to his mother, Charles was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald L. Sherman, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Andrew Sherman; Paternal grandfather and grandmother Algia and Gladys Mitley.
