Christine Pruitt Lindsey, 79, of 1 7th Street Judson was born December 16, 1935 in the small town of Donalds in Abbeville County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home. She was the last surviving child out of thirteen children, born from the union of the late Waymon and Lizzie Saxon Pruitt.
She served as a cook with the Greenville County School District, the Poinsett Hotel, and lastly with the former McBee’s Diner. She truly enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone she met. She was a member fo various social clubs including the Upsetters Club and the Ten Womens Club.
She is survived by three daughters; Lillian Lindsey Garnett, Connie and Charlie Turner, and Earlene Lindsey. One son and a daughter-in-law, Gregory and Rachel Lindsey, all of Greenville.
She has twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four sons; Harry Curtis Pruitt, Michael Lindsey, James Earl Lindsey, and Willie Sylvester Pruitt, as well as one daughter Darlene Pruitt.
She has two sister-in-laws, Ruth Mayes Pruitt of Greenville and Mary Pruitt of Taylors. A Host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service: Thursday, May 14, 2015, 3:00 PM, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
