Mr. Clarence “Cookie” Davis, 78, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Friday, January 3, 2020. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Moses McKinney, Sr., Liza Jane Searles and William Maddox.
“Cookie” was a retiree of American Spinning Company. After retirement he began his own Lawncare Service. He was employed by Watkins,Garrett & Woods Mortuary for 53 years until his demise. “Cookie” was known as the Mayor of Berea Forest Circle.
He was a loyal member of the Mountain View Baptist Church, where he served on the Hospitality Committee. He was also a member of the Touch of Class Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ray Lee Maddox, Tyron Maddox, Phillip McKinney, Carolyn Pearl McKinney, Alma Jean McKinney and Lorine McKinney.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Robbie A. Rucker Davis of the home; his son, Clarence Tamond Davis of Greenville, SC; his granddaughter that he adored, Taniya Nakia Davis of Greenville, SC; his godmother, Viola Barton of Taylors, SC; sisters, Eliza Brownlee Morales of Simpsonville, SC, Janie White, Joann Wise, and Doris McKinney, all of Greenville, SC; brothers, William Kale (Laverne) Maddox of Simpsonville, SC, Gregory (Debra) Maddox of Easley, SC, and Fredrick McKelvey, Moses (Florie) McKinney, Jr., Charles (Shirley) McKinney, Sr., Joseph McKinney, William (Carolyn) McKinney and Willie McKinney, all of Greenville, SC; in-laws, Mary Smith, Martha (Sam) Black, Nina Hawthorne, Bill and Doris Rucker, Jay and Peggy Rucker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
