Danny Shell

November 17, 1955 — July 17, 2016

Mr. Danny Eugene Shell, 60, was born in Greenville, South Carolina, the seventh child of the late Walter Albert and Ina Mae Shell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lia Cherette Shell, his brother, George Edward Shell, and his godmother, Molly Presha.

Danny graduated from Southside High School in 1974. During high school and upon graduating, Danny undertook the skill of floral design as an apprentice for Flowers by John Roberts. Thereafter, he became the owner and operator of Flowers by Danny. Danny had the keen eye for perfection and impeccable style in all that he touched.

Danny was a devout member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for the greater part of his life where he passionately served in various capacities over the years. He was a member of the Trustee Board, President of the Kitchen Ministry, advisor of the youth choir, and the advisor and liaison of the Emergency Scholarship Fund. He also spearheaded numerous projects and renovations for his beloved Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Loved ones who will fondly cherish his memories are three daughters, Daniette Shell, Brittany (Christopher) Neely and Telia Shell, all of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren, Cameron Owens, Jaden Shell, Umari Owens, Triniti Shell, Payten Shell, Landen Shell and Grayson Shell-Fleming; four sisters, Annie (Larry) Scott of Easley, SC, Jewell (Nathan, Sr.) Blakely of Greenville, SC, Wanda Shell of Simpsonville, SC, and Sandra Renee (Jarvis) Bowling of Mauldin, SC; eight brothers, Nathaniel Shell of Spartanburg, SC, Walter Shell, Jr. of Harker Heights, TX, Bruster (Charlie Mae) Shell of Mauldin, SC, James Earl Shell of Greenville, SC, Stanley (Bobbie) Shell of Mauldin, SC, Ray Allen Shell of Greenville, SC, Anthony (Gail) Shell of Mauldin, SC; Christopher Shell of Greenville, SC; mother-in-law, Xanthene Norris of Greenville, SC; two sisters-in-law, Charlene (Edward) Simmons of Taylors, SC and Sue Shell of Greenville, SC; godmother, Annie Mae Booker of Greenville, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Danny loved God, his family, and Tabernacle Baptist Church. He will always be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
