Further on, he spent a few years residing in Atlanta, Georgia, before returning home. As a child, Dara grew up as a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. In his younger adult years, he attended Rock of Ages Baptist Church, but in most recent years, Dara fellowshipped at Long Branch Baptist Church until he was called home.

Dara was a recent employee at South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Center. Growing up, he was a big sports fanatic, and he played sports himself. He also loved to dance and roller skate.
