Ms. Darcus Levetta “Dot” Griffin, 71, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Grady Health Hospital. She was born June 22, 1952, in Greenville County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Walker and Corine Griffin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John W. Griffin. She was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School in Taylors, SC. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta, GA and became a dental assistant. Later, she was employed at Hard Rock Café, where she remained until her health declined.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: two aunts, Louise “Bessie” Griffin of Taylors, SC, and Sarah T. Griffin of Greenville, SC. Her first cousins, Blanche Y. Murraye of Greenville, SC, Butch Griffin, Wayne Griffin, and Valerie Burnette all of Greer, SC; Beverly Hackett, Ronald and Reggie Griffin of Taylors, SC, Debra Mansell of Simpsonville, SC, Edward Yeargin of Greenville, SC, Parasade Mayfield, Deborah Mayfield, Donald Mayfield, and Gwen Mayfield, all of Maryland. A special cousin, Annie Ruth Kennedy of Mauldin, SC, and her lifetime friend, Donna Robinson of Greenville, SC. Caregiver and friend, Shalondra of Atlanta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
