David Pendergrass found eternal rest on Sunday, November 9, 2014 after an extensive illness. Born on January 3rd, 1951 he was the son of the late James Preston Pendergrass and Annie Deola Walker- Pendergrass of Greenville, South Carolina. David attended Bryson and Beck High School during his school aged years.
David acquired his CDL after high school and started his career working for East Coast Metal Trucking, Dillard Paper, as well as Fredrickson Trucking Company. He dedicated his life and career with Just Rite Catering and Penn’s Heating and Air where he worked side by side with family and friends. He started his tutorship in Heating and Air under his brother, the late Charles Pendergrass.
He met and married the love of his life Linda Brockman Pendergrass on October 28th, 1978. Through their union, they had two loving daughters, Chandra A. Pendergrass and Davina L. Pendergrass-Kanard (John P. Kanard). He was and always will be “Papa” to his two grandchildren Jeremiah and Aaliyah Kanard.
Waiting to greet him at his eternal home in addition to his parents are his sisters; Elizabeth Dillard, Sarah P. Wilson, Loney P. Sullivan, Louise P. Young, Mary P. Parks, and Deola P. Williams; brothers, George Pendergrass, James Pendergrass Jr., and Charles Pendergrass. Left to cherish fond and loving memories is sister Christine P. Heard and Betty P. Neal as well as a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation: Friday, November 14, 2014, 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon at Reedy River Baptist Church, Mauldin SC. With Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon, Interment in St. Mark UMC Church Cemetery, Taylors SC.
