Deacon Homer Young
April 1, 1926 — January 23, 2016
Deacon Homer Young, 89, crossed over on January 23, 2016, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. Born in Union County, he was a son of the late Israel and Lillie Rice Young.
At an early age he joined the Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Laurens, SC, later he joined the Only For Christ Church where he was a deacon.
He retired from Donaldson Career Center and J.P. Stevens Manufacturing Company.
He was preceded in death by five sisters; Yvonne, Mary and Ruth Young, Ethel Craig and Lillie Maronie and four brothers, Pink, Robert, Arthur and Guy Young.
Left to treasure fond memories are his wife, Agnes Rollison Young of the home; a daughter, Renee Young Floyd of Charlotte, NC; sons, Anthony Bernard Young, Noel Rollison, David Rollison, all of Greenville, SC and Homer Lee (Mary) Young of Greer, SC; brother, Willie James (Rosa Mae) Young of Greenville, SC and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
