Deacon James Thomas

Deacon James Edward “Puddin” Thomas, 79, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Prisma Health Upstate. He was a son of the late Willie Mae Thomas White.

He attended Sterling High School and was employed by Greenville Sanitation Department. He was a member of Greater Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

He was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters, Mattie Dawson and Deborah Cruell; and three brothers, Donald White, Robert Lee White and Dennis White.

Surviving: his wife, Jessie Mae Higgins Thomas of Greer; two stepdaughters, Frances Cannon and Sandra Cannon, both of Greenville; three sisters, Pamela White, Alma Jean Downs and Deborah Rollins, all of Greenville; one brother, Calvin Clinkscale of Greenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
