Deacon Madison Seabrook

September 29, 1935 — February 8, 2019

Deacon Madison James Seabrook departed this life on February 8, 2019, at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospice Center, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 29, 1935, in Ruffin, South Carolina, to the late Peter Lee and Cleo Carter Seabrook.

He was the fourth of six children of whom all departed this life before him. He graduated from Ruffin High School in 1955; upon graduating he joined the United States Air Force, where he served four years. He then relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where he worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for eighteen years.

He was also the proprietor of “Mr. Afro Barbershop” for twenty-seven years, working as master barber. He was a member of Brooklyn Tabernacle United Holy Church of Brooklyn, New York, for seven years until he relocated to Travelers Rest. He joined Emmanuel Pentecostal of the First Resurrection in 1996. He was a faithful member serving as Deacon until his death.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Min. Eva Seabrook; his loving son, Gregory Seabrook of Brooklyn, NY; the apple of his eye, his only grandson, Brandon Gregory Seabrook of Brooklyn, NY; an aunt, Martha Brown of Queens, NY; a devoted cousin, Joann Dubois of Walterboro, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
