Deacon Willie Ladson

Deacon Willie “Jack” Ladson, Jr., left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on February 16, 2020, at the age of 84. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on March 5, 1935, to the late Willie, Sr., and Corrie Walker Ladson. He was the last surviving of five siblings.

He joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age where he was a faithful member until his health declined. He served as chairman of the Deacon Board, served as a Trustee, sang in the Senior and Mass Choirs, and was a Bus Driver and Custodian.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Ladson; three sisters, Pauline Graffried, Thelma Cason and Carrie Lou Morgan; and one brother, William Charles Ladson.

He leaves to cherish many fond memories, his wife of 65 years, Ella J. Ladson of the home; three sons, Norris (Dorothy) Ladson, John Howard (Markietta) Ladson and Charles (Joyce) Ladson; a daughter-in-law, Minister LaFrance Renee Ladson; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
