Deontea Perry Mackey of 3 Chaney Street, Greenville, SC, departed this life on Friday, March 18, 2016. On January 11, 1999, he was born to Dianna Turner and Broadus Perry Mackey, Jr. in Greenville, SC.

Deontea attended Brook Glenn Elementary, Northwood Middle School, and Wade Hampton High School.

Deontea was a member of the Tree of Life Educational and Missionary Baptist Church. While attending, he served as an usher, song on the choir, participated in drama plays and performed any duty asked of him with a smile on his face.

Deontea played football for the City of Greenville Titans from 2008 through 2010 and was awarded the Most Valuable Player in 2010. While he enjoyed playing basketball, traveling and drawing, his foremost love was for biking. He rode and traveled with the Nicholtown Spinners Bicycle Club.

Along with his parents, Deontea is leaving fond and loving memories with his sister, De’jia Saxon, his maternal grandmother, Barbara Turner, his paternal grandparents, Rev. Broadus P. and Gloria Mackey, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will truly be missed by a special cousin, Jarious Mackey-Burns, for the two were known as Jay and Tay, “The Mackey Boys”.
