Mrs. Doretha Howard “Grandma” Drummond was a daughter of the late Fred Landrum Cruell and Geneva McKinney Cruell. She was born in Slater-Marietta, South Carolina on May 2, 1947, and departed this life on February 16, 2016.
She attended the public schools of Greenville County and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She joined the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church at an early age and later became a member of the First Christian Fellowship Church. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, nurturing and caring mother, loving sister and a superb grand and great-grandmother.
Doretha was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kelly Howard; son, Travis Howard; sisters, Shirley Ann Dickey and Minnie Lee Mackey and brothers, John Cruell and Cornell Cruell.
She leaves to cherish many fond memories her loving and devoted husband, George Drummond of the home; sons, George Howard of Greenville, SC and George (Jamie) Drummond, Jr. of Easley, SC; daughters, Karen D. Howard and Dahlonega Drummond, both of Greenville SC; sisters, Gracie (Dr. John) Berry and Betty Jean Mackey, both of Greenville SC; brother, Thomas Mackey of San Antonio, Texas; one uncle, Hubert Cruell of Lima, OH; a host of grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
