Elder Dorothy Brown

Elder Dorothy Elizabeth Brown, 62, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at her home. She was the daughter of the late James Brown, Sr., and Lillie Mae Scott Brown.

She was a graduate of Dillon High School. Elder Brown was a member of Grace Cathedral Ministries, where she served in the Grace Prayer Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sharon R. Brown; and three sisters, Mary Ann Brown, Clara Bell Brown Douglas, and Gloria Ann Brown.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are her husband, John Willie Brown of the home; two daughters, Tracy Baker and Vetta Smith, both of Greenville, SC; a stepson, John L. Lindsey of Anderson, SC; two sisters, Annie Gibson of Dillon, SC, and Pam Sutton of Greenville, SC, three brothers, James Brown, Jr., of Dillon, SC, Deshawn Gibson and Fred Gibson, both of Greenville, SC ; two grandchildren, Chelsie Brown (Christopher) Gary of Baton Rouge, LA, and Cierra Brown of Greenville, SC; and two great-grandchildren, Christen and Dallas Gary; three aunts, Lizzy Jones of Charlotte, NC, Mary Dot Covington and Denise McRae, both of Dillon, SC, two uncles, Fred Scott and Ronnie Bethea, both of Dillon, SC; cousins, William Cain of Charlotte, NC, and Lambert Gibson of Dillon, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
