Elijah Whitner

Mr. Elijah “Thunday” Whitner, 67, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. He was a son of the late L.T. Whitner and Lillian Webb Whitner. “Thunday” was a retiree of Bahn Textile Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Epps Whitner.
Left to cherish fond memories are his companion, Brenda Ford of Greenville; sons, Benny (Shenqua) Whitner of Greenville, J.R. (Shardae) Witner of Middleburg, FL and Kenny Whitner of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Johnnie Ruth Thomas, Mary Whitner Johnson, Martha Ann (Floyd) Carson and Louise Woods, all of Greenville; brothers, Jonas Whitner, Samuel L. Whitner and Luther (Joyln) Whitner, all of Greenville and Joe W. Whitner of Spartanburg; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Epps Whitner.
