Ella Williams

March 13, 1926 — February 7, 2017

Mrs. Ella Mae “Dute” Williams, 90, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life and entered her eternal home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. Born in Anderson County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Rozell and Ella Jones Austin.

She married Luther T. Williams and later moved to Hartford Connecticut. She was employed by Pratt & Whitney a (United Technologies Company) for 28 years. After retiring, “Dute” and “LT” returned to South Carolina, residing in Greenville. “Dute” was an avid reader and a gardener. Some of her hobbies included studying her genealogy and American History.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther T. “LT” Williams; a son, Charles Douglas Williams; a daughter, Patsy Williams; brothers, Bryson “Ned” Austin and Edward Austin and sisters, Betty Austin Bryson, Mary Austin Ledbetter and Ruby Austin Garrison.

She is survived by a son, Earl S. Williams of Greenville, S.C.; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
