Ellis Carr

Mr. Ellis “June” Carr, Jr., of 201 Pine Log Ford Road, Travelers Rest, South Carolina, passed on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, South Carolina. He was a son of the late Ellis Carr, Sr., and Willie Mae Brown Carr.

“June” was educated in the Greenville County School System and retired from Milliken Mills after forty-one years. He was a dedicated member of the New St. Luke United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Mongela Blassingame and Millicent Hughes Davis; a granddaughter, Alexa Carr; and a brother, Willie Lee Carr.

Left to treasure many fond memories are his wife, Virda Mae Hughes Carr of the home; four sons, Fredrick (Shaye) Carr and Phillip (Kim) Carr, both of Travelers Rest, Antonio Carr of Greenville and Jonathan (Chasity) Carr of Easley; one sister, Roberta Carr Walker of Greenville; two brothers, Otis (Joan) Carr and Clyde (Shirley) Carr, both of Travelers Rest; ten grandchildren, JustinBlassingame, Otis Blassingame, Braylon Hughes, Andre Davis, Sergio Carr, Ellisity Cheyenne Carr, Ellis “Shy-lo” Carr, Vonnetta Carr, Danielle Carr and Deja Carr; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
