Emma Vernon

Mrs. Emma J. Vernon, 69, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Greenville Health System. Born in Simpsonville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Louise Sturkey Hill. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Many memories will be treasured by her husband, Johnny L. Vernon of the home; daughter, Martha Jane Hall of Greenville; sons, Freddie Hill of the home and Monstsho Vernon of Butner, NC; sisters, Sarah (Nathaniel) Canada of Greenville, Willie Dawkins of the home, and Patricia Hawthorne of Fountain Inn; brother, George (Alice) Hill of Greenville; grandchildren, Dawn Hall, Matrise Hall, Carlos Hall, Renee Hall, Jumar Prince, Mario Jackson, Quarius Lee, Iceilean Simpson, Radriques Mansell, Fredriques Mansell, Lakeisha Simpson, Radriques Switzer, Fredriques Switzer, Tyree Hill, Davante Hill, Adrianna Hill, Remiah Hill, Elisha Carr, twenty-four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Hill and Mary Hill, both of Greenville; brother-in-law, Jerry Vernon of Greenville and a host of other relatives and friends.
