ERNESTINE RICE, one of eight children, was born September 26, 1939, in Dade City, Florida to the proud parents of Ernest and Willie Mae Brown. She grew up in Long Island, New York and relocated to New Jersey, where she resided for many years. Ernestine eventually moved to Schenectady, New York, where she retired as a Nursing Home Health Aide. Upon retirement, Ernestine settled in Mauldin, South Carolina. On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, she was called to her eternal home from Greenville, South Carolina.
She was a faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Mitchell Brown and Nathaniel Brown.
Left to cherish many fond memories are one son, Brian M. Rice of Porter, TX; two sisters, Evelyn (George) Zamor of Greenville and Martha Brandon of Richmond, VA; four brothers, William Brown of Montclair, NJ, Harry Brown of Richmond, VA, George Brown of Camden, NJ and Ernest Brown of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren, Mitchell, Matthew Khai, Khalli and Nia Rice; and a host of other relatives and friends.
