Esther Ferguson

Mrs. Esther Lean Ferguson, 80, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Norman Griffin, Sr., and Sarah Mulligan Griffin. She was married to the late Nathaniel Ferguson, Sr., for over 54 years and from this union two children were born.

She was a graduate of Clearview High School in Easley, South Carolina, and was a retiree of Fibers Celanese and Sears. She was a member of Easley Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Lowndes Hill Order of Eastern Star#164. She was well known for her cooking and baking. She loved to travel and had a love for all people. Her smile was out of this world.

Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Juanita Durham, Margaret McKinney and Annie Lee Anderson and a niece, Tonya Marie Anderson.

Left to cherish many fond memories are one daughter, Valorie (Keith E.) Simmons of Piedmont, SC; one son, Nathaniel K. Ferguson, Jr., of Easley, SC; one sister, Peggy J. (Russell)Kennedy of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Norman Griffin, Jr., of Easley, SC and Henry Lee Griffin of Greenville, SC; seven grand-children, Kenisha Adams, Kendrick N. Sitton, Sr., Kenae Ferguson, Kendall Ferguson, Keith Rashad Simmons, Kennedy Ferguson and Kenya Ferguson; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
