Evangelist Ollie Mae-Ann “Cookie” Miller McGowan, 85, of Piedmont, South Carolina, departed this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Greenville Health System. She was a daughter of the late John Alfred Sibert and Zula Mae Jackson Sibert.
Evangelist Miller-McGowan was home schooled, and later received her diploma at Greenville Technical College. She retired from Union Bleachery Mill where she was a forklift operator. She worked as a Social Worker at the Department of Social Services.
She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Evangelist Miller McGowan was a prayer operator at WGGS-TV and an Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husbands, Charlie M. Miller and Johnny McGowan; a son, John M. Miller; a brother, John B. Sibert and sisters, Nora Ruth Williams and Mary Jackson.
Left to cherish many fond memories are seven daughters, Zula Ann Miller of Winston-Salem, NC, Gloria J. Miller (Tony) Bowens, Mary Ruth Butler, Linda Miller Thomason Bruster, Barbara D. Miller (Rudolph) Hill, all of Greenville, Margaret Miller of Piedmont and Janice D. Miller Lee of Anderson; seven sons, Charles “Butch” Miller of Kansas City, MI, Bruce R. Miller of Greenville, Paul S. Miller of Clinton, SC, Robert E. Miller, Phillip M. Miller and James C. Miller, all of Columbia and Benjamin D. Miller of Alpharetta, GA; two granddaughters raised in the home, Toni C. Miller Fuller of Greenville and Jennifer (Warkeith) Spurgeon of Charlotte, NC; two hundred-fifty-three grandchildren, seventy-five great-grandchildren; thirty-six great-great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
