Fannie Mayes

January 5, 1926 — May 2, 2017

Mrs. Fannie Lucile “Ms. Fan” Mayes, 91, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at her home. She was the daughter of the late James L. Robinson and Mamie Lou Montez West.

She attended Sterling High School and worked for many years at the Greenville Country Club as a cook. “Ms. Fan” was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James “Slim” Mayes; three sons, Clarence Perry Robinson, James Reginald Robinson and Harold Robinson and two daughters, Sonjuin Mayes and Annette Mayes.

Left to treasure many fond memories are one daughter, Georgianna “Ann” (June) Long of Greenville; three sons, Michael Mayes, James “Bo” (Nina) Mayes and Kevin Mayes, all of Greenville; three grandchildren raised in the home, James R. (Alicia) Brockman, Monique (Maurice) Brockman and James L. (Mindy) Brockman, all of the home; twenty-five other grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
