Mr. Frank Arthur Lee “Motown” Davis, Sr., 74, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Greenville Health System. Born in Union, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Wallace and Cara Tate Davis.
“Motown” retired from Triangle Construction Company. He was a member of Gowdyesville Baptist Church in Gaffney, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Lee Dawkins Davis; son, Frankie Nelson; grandmother, Julia Wallace Davis; sisters, Freelove Davis, Minnie Pearl Lindsay, Inett D. Wilson, Bertha Lee D. Phillips, Sarah Davis and G.M. Davis and brothers, Ernest Thompson, Nathania Tate and J.D. Davis.
Surviving: daughters, Ann Davis of Atlanta, GA, Gracie Davis of Greenville, Jenell Omigie of Mauldin, Marie Yeargin of Detroit, MI, and Joyce (Robert) Foster of Spartanburg; sons, Frank A. (Veronica) Davis, Jr., of Gaffney, Leonard Posey of Greenville, Charles (Donna) Davis of Travelers Rest, Kenneth Dawkins of Greer, and Ricky (Gereen) Dawkins of Spartanburg; sisters, Essie Ruth (Gary) Hopper of Gaffney, Perneze D. Caldwell of Baltimore, MD, Inez Kershaw of New Jersey, and Flossie Mae Wilkins of Gaffney; brothers, L. C. Davis of Spartanburg and Robert Davis of Gaffney; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
