Mr. George Leon Burton, Sr., was born November 17, 1924, in Greenville County, South Carolina. He made his transition from his earthly home on Sunday, October 5, 2019. He was the son of the late John P. and Emily McBee Burton.
He was a retired textile worker at J. P. Stevens Company, Greenville, South Carolina.
Left to cherish fond memories are two sons, George Leon (Susie) Burton, Jr., of Taylors, SC, and Kent Wardlaw of Brooklyn, NY; three daughters, Patricia (Carlton) Gist of Greenville, SC; Pebbles Burton of Greenville, SC, and Sonya (John) Williams of Greenville, SC; twelve grand-children; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.
