Mrs. Gertrude Bonner Brown was born December 17, 1929, to the late John and Clara Henderson Bonner. She went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was married to the late Lucius Brown, Jr. and from this union, was born two daughters, Shirley Ruth Lunsford and Sharon Ann Thomas.
Mrs. Gertrude graduated from Sterling High School in 1947, worked at Trinity Lutheran School and was a faithful member of Allen Temple AME Church.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, two daughters, Shirley Ruth Lunsford of Lawton OK and Sharon Ann Thomas of the home; two grandsons, Adrian (Diamonik) Lunsford of Houston, TX, and Antonius (Suzanne) Lunsford of Burlington, IA; three great-grandchildren, Santoria (Tre) Quick of Austin, TX, Mariah Cary of Nashville, TN and Adryonna Lunsford of Burlington, IA; three great-great grandchildren, Declan, Saria and Brayden of Austin, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, March 4, 2023, 1:00pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
