Gregory Neely

Gregory Reginald Neely was born to the late Mr. Clea & Mrs. Shirley Ann Burton Neely, April 22, 1958. He transitioned from this life, December 30, 2018.

Gregory joined Reedy Fork Baptist Church at an early age and was active in the Usher Ministry. Gregory is a 1976 graduate of Hillcrest High School. Gregory was employed by W. W. Grainger Corporation for 20 years. Gregory enjoyed his hobby of playing tennis.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 35 years, Valerie Booker Neely; his sons, Reginald Osborne Neely and Gregory Zachery Neely (fiancé-Kara Williams); nephews, Joshua Jackson, Jared Jackson; nieces, Jessica Jackson,Jasmine Jackson; great aunt, Lola Irby; uncles, Rodger Burton, Sr. (Carrie), Donnie Burton (Mamie); aunt, Joella Burton Harris; sister-in-law, Joyce Booker Fruster; brother-in-law, Rev. James Booker, Jr. (Shaunsa) and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gregory was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Irma Neely Jackson (Larry), along with his in-laws, Rev. James Booker, Sr. and Mrs. Minnie Ruth Mims Booker.

Gregory always had a positive outlook about life and lived by the mantra, “Don’t worry, be happy.” He will be missed by those he worked with, worshipped with and those who were blessed to know Gregory.
