Grover Owens

Mr. Grover Eunice Owens was born in Pickens, SC to the late Christopher Owens and Lula Mae McJunkins Owens. He departed this life on October 29, 2015, in Boston, MA.

At an early age, he joined the Soapstone Baptist Church where he worked faithfully for many years.

Mr. Owens was veteran of the US Army. While in the armed forces, he married the late Bernice Whiteside. Later he moved to Boston, MA and studied at the Wentworth Institute, where he obtained a degree to become a Master Electrician. He owned and operated Owens Electrical Contracting Company for many years. He became an entrepreneur having other businesses as well. He taught many valued lessons to his family concerning being entrepreneurs.

He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Christopher Albert Owens, Elford Owens and Furman Cannon and one sister, Alma Bennett.

Left to cherish his many fond memories and lessons on life are his two daughters, Linda Owens and Patricia Owens both of Boston, MA; two sisters, Mable Clark (Charles) Davis and Josephine House both of Pickens, SC; two brothers, Raymond (Bertha) Owens and Clifton (Vernell) Owens both of Pickens. SC; three grandchildren, Stephanie Owens, Aisha Owens and Randall Hutchinson; four great-grandchildren, Tremayne Gomes, Dante Gomes, Javan Gomes, Clarence Owens; one great-great granddaughter, Ava Gomes and a host of other relatives and friends.
