Herbert Richardson

November 8, 1934 — April 4, 2016

Mr. Herbert Roosevelt Richardson, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2016., at McCall Hospice House. He was born in Anderson County on November 8, 1934, a son of the late Robert Roosevelt and Pearl Lee Mancil Richardson.

He attended Spearman School in Anderson County. He retired from Panagakos Paving Company after 35 years of service. He was a member of Sweet Canaan Baptist Curch where he sang on the Male Chorus.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Bettie E. Blanton, Anna Long and Martha Long; brothers, Walter Long, Henry Long and John Long; niece, Joy Richardson and nephews, James C. Thompson, Anthony Blanton, Robert R. Richardson, Michael Partman and Tyvon Brewster.

He is survived by his sister, Lois Mae Bell Richardson of Greenville; niece and caretaker, Betty D. Richardson-Cobb; other nieces, Apostle Annie Broughton, Steftia Richardson, Pamela Miles, Kimberly McCullough, Aliza Whiteside, Jamie Sullivan, Jamillah Hopkins and Carol Thompson; nephews, Willie “Bill” Thompson, Sr., Stanley Richardson, Revis Butler, Chauncey Richardson, Sr., Will Thompson, Ronald Thompson, Israel Pickesn, Kemo Richardson, Robert Richardson, Nicholas Partman and Stanley Partman; one grandchild, Damien McMahan; a devoted cousin, James Brown of Columbia, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.
