Ms. Ida Joetta Bowling was born in Anderson County, South Carolina, on December 6, 1943, to the late Maloy Brown and Corine Jones Brown. On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Ida Joetta Bowling was called to eternal rest. Her impact and influence on her family and the lives she touched is interminable and ever yielding.
Joetta was educated in the Greenville County School System, graduating from Sterling High School in 1961. She went on to further her education, earning a degree from Band Beauty College in Charlotte, NC. Her work ethic led to her becoming a cosmetologist, later working at Style Crafters and General Electric Gas Turbine where she retired after more than 20 years of service. She was a life-long member of Springfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Arthur Brown. Joetta is survived by one daughter, Ronnie B. Hudson of Simpsonville, SC; two sons, Donald (Santora) Bowling of the home, and Kenneth (Rhonda) Bowling of Greenville, SC; one sister, Carolyn B. (S.T.) Peden of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren Kenni Lynette Bowling, Jordan Evette Bowling, Erika LaTora Bowling, Donovan Maloy Bowling; one great-grandchild, Michael Kenneth Jenkins; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
