Mr. Jamaal Stanyarne “Bean” McDuffie, 35, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, departed this life on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at his home.
Jamaal was employed by Arby’s in Simpsonville. He joined the New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He was a past member of the Lights of Joy Choir and the Young Adult Ministry.
He graduated from Woodmont High School in 2002, and attended ECPI Technical College. He was a renowned football player on his high school team and led them towards a state championship. He enjoyed history, sports, nature, video games, and playing with his nieces and nephews, he was an “affectionate and free-spirited” person.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Norma Hopkins; grandfather, William McDuffie, Sr.; an aunt, Martina McDuffie; and an uncle, William McDuffie, Jr.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his father, James W. (Doris) McDuffie of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Selma Hopkins (Lorenzo) Funches of Fountain Inn; two sisters, Erika Fowler of Fountain Inn and Courtney Walker of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Terrell (Benita) McDuffie of Fountain Inn,Treylan McDuffie of Atlanta, GA, and Jason (Shayna) Walker of San Marcos, CA; grandparents, John Hopkins of Pelzer and Christine McDuffie of Anderson; aunts, Johnnie Edwards and Lorraine Jones, both of Pelzer and Connie McDuffie of Anderson; uncles, Ray Hopkins of Pelzer, Michael McDuffie of Atlanta, GA, Keith McDuffie of Anderson and Charles Sloan of Newark, NJ ; a special friend, Teresa Kinross; and a host of other relatives and friends.
