Mr. James William “Brother” “Head” Gary, 81, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Patewood Post Acute. He was the son of the late, J.W. Gambrell and Catherine Gary Oliver.
He was married to Ardie Claudine Bell Gary for 63 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Wanda Renise Gary of Simpsonville, SC, Gail Preston of Greenville, SC and Angela Brown of Mauldin, SC; five sisters, Rev. Bennie Mae Campbell, Johnnie Mae Gary and Claudette (Robert) McKinney, all of Mauldin, SC, Diane Oliver and Kathy Wright, both of Greenville, SC; five brothers, Anthony Lee (Laura) Oliver of Travelers Rest, SC, Rickie (Rosemary) Oliver of Easley, SC, Ronnie Oliver of Saudi Arabia, Harry L. Oliver of Greenville, SC and Carl Gambrell of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Sunday, July, 2, 2023, 12:30pm at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with interment in Greenville Memorial Gardens
