Mr. James Arthur “Gosh” Glover, 85, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Greenville Health System. He was born on July 9, 1934, a son of the late Thomas Glover and Effie Whestone Glover.
At an early age, he joined Nazareth Methodist Church where he sang in the Male Chorus. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his tenure in the Armed Forces, he held various jobs in Brooklyn, New York and South Carolina.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Carolyn “Bright Eyes” Curry Glover; a son, Andre S. Glover; six brothers, Thomas, Herman, Marion, Theodore, Robert, and Phillip; and two sisters, Lorraine and Mary.
Surviving: one daughter, Jacqueline Glover of Anderson; two sons, James A. Glover, Jr., of Anderson and Christopher (Pamela Marie) Glover of Buffalo Grove, IL; stepchildren, Pamela Curry and Kentrel Curry, both of Greenville; a sister, Jannie Mae Whestone of St. Matthews, SC; a brother, John Henry (Harriette) Glover of Snellville, GA; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
